Just a fine line

At the ex-colleague's chalet,
Volunteered to BBQ for the rest.
Chicken wings, hotdogs, and aplenty more.
There's a basket nearby, live crabs all tied up inside.
It never bothered me.
But when they threw one of the crabs onto the grills, the mood was disturbed.
It was pathetic, the crab was still alive.
It tried to struggle away from the pit, only to be caught and positioned back.
Can you imagine the pain?
As it struggled, a hungry someone caught it with the tongs and flipped it on its shell.
This time, there's no running away.
Shocked.
Its my first time witnessing this.
I cant imagine what will happen if I were in its shoe.
It cant move an inch, and the heat from the charcoal.
Nonetheless, it keep struggling.
Till couple of its legs broke.
Was it the intense heat from the charcoal or the tough struggle to stay alive, that the legs became dislocated.
I really dont know.
Its just a sad case.
A minute ago, its safe and undisturbed.
A minute later, its struggling for its survival.
Life's fragile, even down to little living things like it.
We're many times bigger compared to just a little crab.
But life's as fragile.
We'll never know whats gonna happen in the next minute coming our way.
